The word “Advent” stems from the Latin word meaning “coming” and is a period of time observed in faith traditions as a time before the remembrance of the birth of the Christ child.  The season of Advent, the start of the church’s liturgical year, has been traditionally set aside as a time for reflection and study.

This Advent season we will focus on a theme of An Old Story Becomes New: Our Journey to Bethlehem.  Featuring texts from the Book of Isaiah, we will hear once again about the promise of a new reign that would bring hope and promise to the people.

During the Advent season we will also have the opportunity to see and hear our children and youth as they share their Christmas program, Star of Wonder, on Sunday, December 14.

Our choir will be featured on Sunday, December 21, with a number of selections for the holiday season as they share their gift of music that day with us.

May this season of Advent provide you a way to create space for your spiritual wellbeing to be nourished and grow as we prepare for the remembrance of Jesus’ birth.
