Congregational Meeting Unanimously Approves Financing for Renovation Project

On Sunday, July 21, we held a congregational meeting. Mitch Bloomquist, partner with Sauter, Baty & Bloomquist, our architecture firm for the expansion and renovation project, gave everyone an update on the progress of the project. In the past three weeks our general contractor, Kleiman Construction, has completed approximately 90% of the demolition work, and plumbing for the new handicap accessible bathrooms has been completed as well.

Cindi Ohrt, Church Treasurer, presented information about our loan options with Farmer State Bank, where we currently have several accounts. Andrew Buck, Council Chairperson, explained why the vote was needed, as per our bi-laws regarding financial matters, the congregation must approve any extraordinary expense currently not in the budget if borrowing exceeds 5% of the current budget (Article VII, item 12). The motion was unanimously approved.
