This event is brought to you by the Cedar Rapids / Marion Civil Rights Commissions, PFlag of Linn County and numerous community partners and organizations. The goal of the event is to broaden awareness of the rights of the LGBT community in the Cedar Rapids and Marion areas, as well as improve knowledge and access to resources and other opportunities available to the LGBT community.
Please join us for an evening learning about the history of the local LGBT Community, hear and learn from our keynote speaker Ms. Ashland Johnson, Esq. Policy Counsel with the National Center for Lesbian Rights, and participate in a number of breakout groups in the evening.
This summit is the first step to bring long term awareness and coordination between the LGBT Community in the area and the community at-large.

The Missions Committee would like to open this educational opportunities to our congregation as we have a goal to reach a more inclusive world. The Mission Committee thinks this is an opportunity for education and insight into an issue that affects a segment of the population in our community.
