Hope United Church of Christ hosted a Messy Pentecost event this evening for five children and youth. We read the sacred stories about Jesus’ ascension and the coming of the Holy Spirit.
There were activities, games and crafts centering on the Spirit as flame, as wind and as a dove. We finished our time together using the flames of a campfire to roast hotdogs, enjoy chips and drinks, and make smores.
Thank you to those who came to enjoy the event. Thank you to: Zoey Evans, Mark Hartenstein, Melena Urbanowski, and William Urbanowski for helping to make this event possible.
Hope United Church of Christ will celebrate Pentecost on Sunday, May 23, at 10:00 a.m. in-person and on Facebook Live.
