Pentecost Sunday ~ May 20

In the Christian tradition, the celebration of Pentecost Sunday happens 50 days after Easter.  It is a day set aside to remember and recall the coming of God’s Spirit to the early followers of Jesus.  For some, it represents the birth of the church, a coming together of community for mission, fellowship and ministry.

On June 4, we will celebrate the day with songs and prayers and share in the sacrament of communion, where bread and juice/wine are blessed and given for all to eat and drink – reminding us that God’s Spirit nourishes us in many ways.
