Tomorrow, Sunday, February 2, will be a busy and full day at Hope United Church of Christ, 150 9th Avenue, Hiawatha.

Our choir will meet for rehearsal prior to worship; our youth are meeting at 9:30 a.m. to begin making sub sandwiches that will be sold following worship with the proceeds helping our youth with upcoming activities and a trip to National Youth Event; and our annual Valentine’s sale will take place before and after worship featuring homemade items – many by our children and youth. Proceeds from this sale, as voted on by our children and youth, will go to Last Hope Animal Rescue, Cedar Rapids. And … our children and youth choir will have practice following worship in order to prepare for their performance next Sunday in worship.

Our worship, which begins at 10:00 a.m., will have a focus on the biblical stories from the prophet known as Micah and from the author of the Gospel of Matthew. With the Super Bowl later in the day, we will try to see if we can discover Jesus’ game plan for how we are to do what is required of us: do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with our God.

Prayer, song, and communion will be a part of our morning. All persons are welcome to take part in the sharing of bread and cup.

It will be a busy and full morning at Hope UCC. Come and see!
